Four Continents 2012

Casablanca: 5 October

We had an uneventful drive back to Casablanca. *
View over Casablanca from the roof of our hotel. *
From our hotel, we walked to the Church of Sacre Coeur, built by the French in the 1930s in Art Deco style. *
We found it was being set up for an exhibition or performance, so we could not see inside. *
We took a taxi to the Hassan II Mosque, which has the highest minaret tower in the world. *
  *
  *
  *
We took a guided tour of the interior. *
  *
  *

  *
Water basins in the ablutions area in the basement of the mosque. *
  *
  *
There is also a hammam in the basement, but no longer used. *
The immense courtyard of the mosque. *
View along the coast from the mosque. *

The next morning into a taxi to catch a flight to Lisboa.
