Portland: 14-21 October

		Flying from Frankfurt to Vancouver by the great circle route, we flew over the amazing ice cap of Greenland. *

		The main reason for visiting Portland was to spend some time with our son, his wife, and our only grand-child, Ryden. †

		For much of our time in Portland, the weather was miserable but on the Saturday we went to Silver Falls State Park, some 60 miles south of Portland. †
