Friday was our last day in L'Isle, and we set off on quite a long journey to the Camargue. We had hoped to photograph some flamingoes, but we could not find any so instead we went to the seaside town of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. It had attractive lights along the seafront boardwalk ... * |

but it was very busy and crowded because of a bullfight festival. * |

We went down to Les Alyscamps, a mausoleum established just outside the walls of the Roman town. * |

In the evening, our apartment owner came around to refund our security deposit. We asked if he could recommend a restaurant for our last night in town, and he made a booking for us at Le Jardin du Quai, near the train station. There was no menu provided, but we had a delightful set meal. * |
