France 2008

Paris, Part 2

On the Friday, we wandered around many shops and did not take many photos. We did notice that French schools can be in places that would be very unlikely in Australia. *
  Evening along the Seine. †
On Saturday, we went to Galleries Lafayette department store and admired the dome. *
Then a visit to the Musée Cluny, the National Museum of the Middle Ages, with this interesting entry door. †
On Sunday, we strolled around Montmartre ... †
and looked at the one windmill remaining in Paris. *
Monday was our last day in Paris, and also Bastille Day (Fête Nationale). The military parade along the Champs Elysées formed up close to our apartment. *
  *

We tried to see the parade, but the crowd was too thick, so we wandered off and saw the pond outside the Hôtel de Ville. *
To finish off, a selection of Lynn's photos of the Eiffel Tower at various times.

Then on Tuesday, an early start for the long journey to Boston.
