Paris (again)

Île de France

Driving from Chartres back to Paris, we stopped to visit the Palace of Versailles, but we could not take photos there. We dropped the rental car at Montparnasse and took a taxi to our hotel on Île St Louis.
  Typically understated Paris lamp-post.
We visited the Musée d'Orsay: very obviously a converted railway station.
  The clock at Musée d'Orsay.
Then we wandered along the banks of the Seine ...
... to Sainte-Chappelle, built by King (Saint) Louis to house the Crown of Thorns that he had bought.
Capital of one of the columns in St-Chappelle.
Angel with the Crown of Thorns.
Lynn also tried some black-and-white photography. This is Notre Dame.
The pyramid in front of the Louvre.
You-know-what seen in a haze from a distance.

From Paris, it was time to move on to Italy.
